BP Tapera Says Zero Down Payment on Subsidised Mortgages Applies to Online Motorcycle Taxi Partners
Deputy Commissioner for Fund Utilisation at BP Tapera, Sid Herdi Kusuma, stated that the zero down payment scheme represents the government’s support for informal sector workers, particularly Gojek’s online motorcycle taxi partners who have an income but do not yet own a home. “Through this cooperation, Gojek Driver Partners who meet the requirements as low-income communities (MBR) can access mortgages with a zero percent down payment,” Sid Herdi said in Jakarta on Friday, following the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between BP Tapera and PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk regarding the Housing Programme for Gojek Driver Partners. He explained that through this programme, eligible Gojek Driver Partners have the opportunity to own their first home via the Sejahtera Mortgage scheme under the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) with a zero down payment facility. The cooperation, which will run until 2027, is expected to reach many Gojek Driver Partners across various regions so that the benefits of the government’s housing programme can be felt more widely by the public. Sid Herdi noted that support for low-income communities is also being strengthened through government policy in the financial services sector. Adjustments to the Financial Information Service System (SLIK) provisions by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) provide greater opportunities for the public to access housing finance, including through the Three Million Houses Programme, which is a government priority. “With the zero down payment scheme, Gojek Driver Partners who pass verification and meet banking requirements can obtain ease in applying for FLPP Subsidised Mortgages without needing to provide a down payment, making the process towards first home ownership easier and more affordable,” he said. Sid Herdi added that as of 2 July 2026, BP Tapera has realised the distribution of FLPP for 93,339 housing units with a financing value reaching IDR 11.60 trillion. The largest beneficiary group came from private sector workers, totalling 61,126 units or 65.49 percent, followed by entrepreneurs with 15,890 units or 17.02 percent, civil servants with 7,643 units or 8.19 percent, and military and police personnel with 1,394 units or 1.49 percent. This achievement shows that the FLPP programme is increasingly able to reach various community groups, including informal sector workers who have historically had limited access to formal housing finance.
