BP starts producing gas at APN field
TOKYO: A group led by BP Plc. that includes Cnooc Ltd. and
Inpex Corp. started producing natural gas from the APN field in
northwest Java, Indonesia.
Production started on Aug. 17, Tokyo-based Inpex said in a
statement on its web site today. The field is expected to produce
100 million cubic meters of gas a day, equivalent to 18,000
barrels of oil a day, in 2006, the statement said.
BP is the operator of the APN field and has a 46 percent in
the project, the statement said. Cnooc has a 37 percent stake,
Inpex a 7.25 percent stake and Japan's Itochu Oil Exploration Co.
a 2.58 percent share, the statement said.-- AP
