BP Indonesia Signs Three New Production Sharing Contracts
BP Indonesia, the oil and gas exploration company, has agreed to three new Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) in Indonesia. The agreements raise BP’s participation in the country’s oil and gas blocks to 11. Two of the PSCs cover the Bintuni and Drawa exploration blocks in West Papua, while the Barong block in East Java is operated by INPEX. BP Indonesia’s EVP Gas & Low Carbon Energy William Lin said the two blocks in West Papua are adjacent to the Tangguh LNG facility, which remains in operation. If the exploration proves successful, the proximity of the two new blocks to our existing facilities will support the development and production of resources from both blocks in the future,” he said in a written statement on Thursday, 21 May 2026. The contracts are part of the Phase II 2025 oil and gas working area bidding organised by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). The agreements were signed between BP Indonesia and SKK Migas, witnessed by ESDM Minister Bahlil Lahadalia. Marking BP’s 60 years in Indonesia, the regional team remains focused on safety and operational performance. “We hope to continue working with the government and partners to support energy resilience and Indonesia’s development goals going forward,” he said. Adapun dalam penandatanganan perjanjian ini BP menjadi mitra dengan kepemilikan 49 persen di blok Barong bersama INPEX Corporation yang bertindak sebagai operator dengan kepemilikan 51 persen.
