BP BUMN Supports Strengthening Bank Mandiri's Human Resources
Jakarta (ANTARA) — Dony Oskaria, Head of the SOE Regulatory Body (BP BUMN) and concurrently COO of Danantara, has backed efforts to strengthen the quality of human resources at Bank Mandiri, including through various competency development programmes and scholarships for employees that continue to be enhanced.
“If necessary, the training budget should be even higher,” Dony said in a statement confirmed by ANTARA from Jakarta on Wednesday.
According to him, investment in talent development is an essential part of safeguarding the company’s continuity in the years ahead.
In addition, Dony believes that a culture of research and people development must continue to be strengthened as a foundation for driving innovation and ensuring Bank Mandiri can sustain its performance over the long term. Competency development, research and product innovation should be viewed as strategic investments that add value to the company.
“The research development, the product development — these must be enhanced as well. This is what makes a corporation sustainable,” Dony said.
Dony held a meeting with the Board of Directors of Bank Mandiri on Wednesday (29/7). During the meeting, he asked that an adaptive, agile, collaborative and hardworking culture remain the spirit upheld by Bank Mandiri amid the ever-evolving dynamics of the industry.
He also stressed that a company’s success is determined not only by current performance achievements, but also by its ability to prepare a successor generation with the capacity and capability to carry on the company’s growth.
In his view, a focus on hitting targets must not come at the expense of attention to human resource development.
“For me, what is more important is ensuring that the next generations at Bank Mandiri each have their own capacity and capability. That is extremely important — we must not become complacent about the numbers and neglect everything else. Marketing cut back, people development cut back, sending our people to study abroad cut back. That must not happen,” Dony said.
