Malang, East Java (ANTARA) - The State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Body (BP BUMN) is strengthening national aviation navigation services as part of efforts to enhance safety, operational efficiency, and system preparedness in the face of growing air traffic in Indonesia. “Strengthening technology-based navigation systems is a crucial step to ensure increasingly safe, efficient, and globally standardised aviation services,” stated the Head of BP BUMN, Dony Oskaria, in his remarks received in Malang, East Java, on Thursday. Dony, who is also the COO of Danantara, accompanied by Deputy for Facilitation and Development Synergy of BP BUMN, Hambra, held a meeting with the Board of Directors of Perum AirNav Indonesia (LPPNPI). In the meeting, various strategic steps were discussed to ensure that the national aviation navigation system can support increasing societal mobility and continuously developing economic activities. AirNav Indonesia, as the provider of aviation navigation services, plays a vital role in ensuring that every flight operates safely, orderly, and well-coordinated in the national airspace. Additionally, enhancing system capacity and utilising technology were the main focuses of the discussion. Technology-based navigation system strengthening is deemed essential to support air traffic management efficiency, improve flight punctuality, and maintain high safety standards in line with international practices. Dony emphasised that AirNav Indonesia holds a highly strategic position in the national air transport ecosystem. BP BUMN is also encouraging AirNav Indonesia to continue enhancing innovation and strengthening coordination with various stakeholders in the aviation sector, including airport operators, airlines, and regulators. Such synergy is considered important to ensure optimal management of national airspace and support inter-regional connectivity in Indonesia. With system strengthening and improved navigation service quality, it is hoped that AirNav Indonesia can further solidify its role in safeguarding national aviation safety while supporting sustainable growth in the air transport sector. These efforts are also part of a joint commitment to deliver a modern, efficient air transport system capable of addressing future aviation industry challenges.
