BP BUMN: Entrepreneurial Spirit Essential for Red and White Village Cooperative Managers

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Deputy Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN), Tedi Bharata, has stated that an entrepreneurial spirit is essential for managers of the Village/Sub-District Cooperative (Kopdes) Merah Putih.

“This is an employee role but with a high entrepreneurial spirit. This is valuable experience over these two years,” Tedi said in Jakarta on Friday.

He explained that the Kopdes Merah Putih managers are expected to gain experience, exposure, and connections with various parties during their two-year tenure.

“This is very interesting. These are Kopdes managers, cooperatives. So as employees, but over these two years, the friends who will be accepted will get a lot of exposure. They will get a lot of exposure as Kopdes managers, interacting with what? With SOEs, because SOE products will be there, such as fertiliser and LPG. Local village products or goods will also be sold there,” he said.

He also hopes that the Kopdes Merah Putih managers will develop the cooperatives.

“What about the future? Of course, in the future, they want to become employees of this village cooperative, with all kinds of knowledge. But these two years are like intensive training. There is Agrinas providing training and assistance. So in the future, they can develop this cooperative. This is just the initial stage,” Tedi said.

Regarding the possibility of extending the Kopdes Merah Putih managers’ contracts after two years, Tedi stated that it would depend on their performance.

“We’ll see later. But of course, performance will determine it. What are our hopes? What is the goal? To develop the village cooperative. The village cooperative belongs to the village itself. If the performance is lacking, I’m sorry, but it probably can’t continue. Earlier, this is an employee but needs to have a high entrepreneurial spirit. And over these two years, they will be trained with a lot of experience, exposure, and interactions with many parties. I think that is very valuable experience for them,” Tedi said.

For information, the Government, through the national selection committee, has officially opened recruitment for 30,000 positions as Kopdes Merah Putih managers.

The Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs and Head of the Task Force for the Formation of Village Cooperatives (Kopdes) Merah Putih, Zulkifli Hasan, stated that the first phase of recruitment provides 30,000 positions.

The selection is open to D3, D4, and S1 graduates from all majors, with a maximum age of 35 years and a minimum GPA of 2.75. Registration runs until 24 April 2026 through the official channel https://phtc.panselnas.go.id.

Zulkifli emphasised that the selection process is conducted openly, transparently, and accountably without any fees.

He said that the 30,000 Kopdes Merah Putih managers who pass will work under the state-owned enterprise PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara, with a fixed-term employment agreement (PKWT) for two years.
