The inauguration, led by BP BUMN Head Dony Oskaria in Jakarta, was attended by Deputy Head Tedi Bharata, Deputy Head Aminuddin Ma’ruf and executives of state-owned enterprises (SOEs). “This inauguration marks the start of a long journey and reflects our full commitment to transforming SOE management,” Dony said. He said the overhaul would require sustained commitment, hard work and consistency, as well as the courage to abandon outdated and unproductive practices. “Taking office is not a time to enjoy the position, but to work harder and face greater challenges,” he said. Dony highlighted the need for close coordination between BP BUMN and sovereign investment body BPI Danantara in overseeing state firms. He said BP BUMN would focus on strategic policy while Danantara would manage operational aspects, describing the roles as complementary. Beyond leadership changes, BP BUMN is preparing a sweeping restructuring agenda aimed at improving professionalism, transparency and competitiveness. More than 1,000 SOE entities are set to be consolidated to around 200 to 300 through mergers, divestments, liquidations and other corporate actions, Dony said. He called on officials to uphold integrity and professionalism to ensure transparent and accountable governance. “I ask for the commitment and hard work of all ranks to leave the best legacy for the nation,” he said. Dony said the newly appointed officials were expected to strengthen cross-sector collaboration so SOEs could deliver greater economic and social contributions.
