BP BUMN and Pupuk Indonesia Push for Efficiency and National Food Security
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN), who also serves as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Danantara, Dony Oskaria, along with the directors of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), is promoting efficiency and food security through the strengthening of structures and business streamlining. “Pupuk Indonesia is directed to strengthen its structure and streamline its business to increase efficiency and ensure that fertiliser distribution remains on target,” Dony stated in his remarks received in Jakarta on Thursday. Dony held a meeting with the directors of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) on Tuesday (31/3) to discuss business performance and future strategic steps. The meeting is part of BP BUMN’s efforts to strengthen strategic sectors, particularly the fertiliser industry, to support agricultural productivity and national food security. “This transformation is expected to support agricultural sector productivity and maintain national food security,” Dony said. In addition, the discussion covered developments following the change in the fertiliser subsidy scheme from cost-plus to market-based pricing, which is part of policy transformation to improve the accuracy of distribution and subsidy effectiveness. This step is expected not only to enhance company performance but also to strengthen the national fertiliser distribution system and support the stability and sustainability of Indonesia’s food sector.
