BP BUMN and Danantara Set Aside Rp581 Billion to Transform RSPP
Jakarta (ANTARA) – The State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN) and Danantara are setting aside Rp581 billion to transform Pertamina Central Hospital (RSPP), as a pilot project to improve healthcare services under the management of Indonesia Healthcare Corporation (IHC).
“This is to become Indonesia Hospital. We should not do this by halves. We want it to be our flagship, the kind of hospital people think of when they come to Indonesia. It should be our hospital,” BP BUMN head and Danantara Chief Operating Officer Dony Oskaria said in a statement confirmed by ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday.
The transformation of RSPP will be the first stage, before the programme is extended to 38 other hospitals managed by IHC. The plan was a key subject discussed by Dony Oskaria and IHC’s board of directors at a meeting at Wisma Danantara.
The BP BUMN head stressed that RSPP’s transformation must be comprehensive, in line with the Indonesian President’s direction for the hospital to become Indonesia Hospital and a source of national pride.
To strengthen its service capacity, IHC plans to add 40 specialist doctors over the next two years and recruit 70 new specialist doctors by 2030.
Renewing the workforce is also an important part of driving a change in workplace culture at the hospital.
“We need to start recruiting new doctors, nurses and other workers. We need fresh blood, young blood, to transform the culture,” Dony said.
