BP BUMN and Danantara Demand LRT City Resolution Must Not Harm Consumers
BP BUMN and Danantara are pushing for a comprehensive resolution to the LRT City issue whilst continuing to prioritise consumer rights and interests. Adhi Karya has been asked to complete its obligation to hand over some 2,400 units that have yet to be received by buyers.
Head of BP BUMN and COO of Danantara, Dony Oskaria, emphasised that resolving the matter must not cause losses to consumers, especially members of the public buying a home for the first time.
“Consumers must not be harmed. That is the fundamental principle of our resolution — consumers must not suffer losses. Because the consumers are not at fault, especially those buying their first home. This was an internal mistake on our side,” he said in a written statement on Tuesday (15/9/2026).
According to Adhi Karya’s mapping, of around 5,400 units sold, 3,000 have been handed over to consumers. Meanwhile, some 2,400 units have yet to be handed over and are spread across a number of LRT City projects.
To determine the resolution, Danantara will hold talks with consumer representatives and the Minister of Housing and Residential Areas. The meeting will discuss several settlement options for consumers who have yet to receive their units.
In addition, Adhi Karya has been asked to draw up a calculation of project completion costs as well as a comprehensive business plan. This step is needed to ensure each settlement option has a clear basis of calculation, whether through completing construction or refunding consumers’ money. Dony stressed that the matter must reach a concrete resolution promptly and must not be allowed to drag on.
“In any case, this must be resolved. It is impossible for us to harm our consumers. So for me, this must be settled — whether that means refunding or building. It must be resolved; that is my instruction. Whether it means they get refunded first, this must be resolved. It cannot simply be left to stagnate.”
BP BUMN and Danantara affirmed that the LRT City resolution must provide certainty for consumers whilst ensuring that the troubled project does not once again become a burden on people who have fulfilled their obligations.
