BP BUMN accelerates construction of People's Schools
BP BUMN accelerates construction of People’s Schools to ensure equitable education access across regions. “People’s Schools must symbolise the government’s presence in providing more equitable education access for the public,” said BP BUMN Head and Danantara COO Dony Oskaria in a statement on Monday in Jakarta. By 24 May 2026, construction across 86 sites involving seven BUMN Karya has achieved 62.19% progress with 67,542 workers deployed. All projects are targeted for completion by 20 June 2026. The acceleration of construction was the focus of discussions during Dony’s meeting with the Karya Group board on Monday (25 May). The meeting addressed steps to expedite People’s Schools construction and ensure all project stages proceed according to set targets. Discussions also focused on strengthening funding support and project progress monitoring to ensure optimal construction implementation. Dony said BP BUMN is also pushing for strengthened legal aspects and institutional coordination with the Ministry of Public Works to accelerate on-site construction completion. Several strategic measures have been prepared to ensure project continuity until final completion. Funding support will be further reinforced to facilitate project execution, while BUMN Karya is urged to be more selective in choosing vendors and subcontractors to maintain construction quality. Progress monitoring, Dony added, is conducted weekly to ensure any obstacles are promptly addressed. Dony stated that the intensive oversight by BP BUMN and Danantara is expected to accelerate the provision of suitable and quality educational facilities across regions. Inter-BUMN synergy, he said, is not only aimed at speeding up physical construction but also ensuring projects run sustainably and deliver tangible benefits to the public.
