BP Batam Chief Presents 2025 Performance: Investment Exceeds Target, Optimistic for 10th Unqualified Opinion
Head of the Batam Concession Agency (BP Batam), Amsakar Achmad, presented the 2025 performance achievements of the Batam Free Trade and Free Port Zone (KPBPB) alongside the Fiscal Year 2025 Financial Report during a hearing with Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) in Jakarta on Thursday (16/7). Amsakar was accompanied by Deputy Head of BP Batam Li Claudia Chandra and other deputies. Amsakar stated that Batam’s economic performance throughout 2025 showed a positive trend. Batam’s economic growth reached 6.76 percent, surpassing the national economic growth of 5.11 percent. Based on data from the Investment Activity Report, Batam’s investment realisation in 2025 reached Rp44.01 trillion, an increase of 72.83 percent compared to the previous year and exceeding the target by 118.97 percent. Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) performance also remained robust. Throughout 2025, BP Batam successfully realised PNBP of Rp1.93 trillion. The agency is optimistic about once again obtaining an Unqualified Opinion (WTP) for its Fiscal Year 2025 Financial Report. If realised, this achievement would mark the tenth consecutive WTP opinion since 2016. ‘The continuously growing investment achievements and the projection of a 10th WTP opinion show that Batam is not only able to maintain its competitiveness as an investment destination but also continues to strengthen transparent and accountable governance,’ said Amsakar. Amsakar stated that BP Batam will continue to strengthen institutional governance through digitalisation and investment service innovation. ‘Going forward, BP Batam will accelerate the digitalisation of financial management, optimise state revenue, and strengthen internal controls so that every rupiah of the budget provides maximum benefits for the development of the KPBPB Batam,’ Amsakar asserted. Chairman of Commission VI DPR RI, Andre Rosiade, appreciated BP Batam’s achievements. According to him, Batam has demonstrated good performance and is expected to continue serving as an example in national investment development through improved service quality, business certainty, and better institutional governance.
