BP Batam Chief Presents 2025 Performance: Investment Exceeds Target, Optimistic for 10th Unqualified Opinion
Bisnis.com, BATAM — The Head of the Batam Free Port Authority (BP Batam), Amsakar Achmad, presented the performance achievements of the Batam Free Trade and Free Port Zone (KPBPB) and the Fiscal Year 2025 Financial Report during a hearing with Commission VI of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) in Jakarta on Thursday (17 July).
Amsakar was accompanied by Deputy Head of BP Batam Li Claudia Chandra along with the agency’s deputies. He stated that Batam’s economic performance throughout 2025 showed a positive trend, with economic growth reaching 6.76 per cent, surpassing the national economic growth of 5.11 per cent.
Based on Investment Activity Report data, realised investment in Batam in 2025 reached Rp44.01 trillion, an increase of 72.83 per cent compared to the previous year and exceeding target by 118.97 per cent.
Non-tax state revenue (PNBP) performance was also maintained, with BP Batam successfully realising Rp1.93 trillion throughout 2025.
The agency is optimistic of once again securing a Wajar Tanpa Pengecualian (unqualified) opinion on the Fiscal Year 2025 Financial Report. If achieved, it would mark the tenth consecutive unqualified opinion since 2016.
“Continued investment growth and the prospect of a tenth unqualified opinion show that Batam is not only able to maintain its competitiveness as an investment destination, but is also continuously strengthening transparent and accountable governance,” said Amsakar.
He added that BP Batam will continue to strengthen institutional governance through digitalisation and innovation in investment services.
“Going forward, BP Batam will accelerate the digitalisation of financial management, optimise state revenues, and strengthen internal controls so that every rupiah of the budget delivers maximum benefit for the development of the Batam KPBPB,” Amsakar asserted.
The Chair of Commission VI of the DPR RI, Andre Rosiade, commended BP Batam’s achievements. According to him, Batam has demonstrated strong performance and is expected to continue serving as an example in national investment development through improved service quality, business certainty, and better institutional governance.
