Jakarta — Energy company PT Alamtri Resources Indonesia Tbk (ADRO) is preparing a share repurchase or buyback programme valued at up to Rp 4 trillion.

This move forms part of the company’s corporate strategy and reflects management’s confidence in the company’s fundamental condition.

President Director of Alamtri Resources Indonesia Garibaldi Thohir stated that the buyback also represents support for the domestic capital market.

“I believe that ADRO and the Indonesian capital market have very good long-term prospects,” said Boy Thohir in a statement on Tuesday (17 March 2026).

“Why are we conducting a buyback? Because we are confident that the fundamentals are sound. And we can see that,” added Boy Thohir.

Thohir assessed that recent global dynamics have demonstrated the importance of a strong energy sector. Geopolitical conflicts and disruptions to global supply chains have driven up energy commodity prices.

Indonesia is said to possess advantages owing to its diverse range of energy sources, including coal, geothermal power, hydroelectric power, and solar energy.

“We are grateful that Indonesia has coal, geothermal, hydro, and also solar. That is what shows why our country has a comparative advantage that other countries do not have,” he said.

The company has set aside approximately Rp 4 trillion for the buyback, with funding sourced from internal company cash reserves.

If approved, the buyback programme is scheduled to commence on 20 April 2026.

The buyback will be executed in phases through the Indonesia Stock Exchange, with the implementation period lasting a maximum of 12 months.
