Jakarta (ANTARA) — The SMAN 37 Jakarta Alumni Association (IKA SMAN 37) has formed a micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) division within its organizational structure to accommodate and strengthen alumni business activities while driving economic circulation within the alumni community.

IKA SMAN 37 Jakarta Chairman, retired Commissioner General Boy Rafli Amar, said at the launch of the IKA SMAN 37 MSME division in the South Jakarta area on Sunday that the formation of the MSME division is a form of alumni support for the economic policy direction of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration, commonly referred to as Prabowonomics. Prabowonomics is a broad theme encompassing several emphases, such as the importance of maintaining stability for the economy to function well. Additionally, economic sovereignty and self-reliance are important components of the concept’s meaning.

In his statement, Rafli said strengthening alumni MSME networks has the potential to expand welfare impact, not only for organization members but also for the wider Indonesian public. “If all senior high school alumni associations in Jakarta and Indonesia form MSME divisions, then alumni will certainly become more prosperous, and Indonesia’s economy will also benefit and become more prosperous,” he said.

Meanwhile, IKA SMAN 37 Jakarta Public Relations Division Head Debbie Dahlia said the association currently oversees nearly 100 MSME operators from among its alumni. She noted that the turnover of affiliated businesses ranges from Rp 10 million to Rp 100 million per month. “There are now nearly 100 MSMEs from SMAN 37 that have joined and been embraced by IKA SMAN 37, and their turnover has surged from Rp 10 million to Rp 100 million per month—so just imagine, the economic movement has become extraordinary,” she said.

The MSME division launch was also attended by a number of prominent alumni who are members of IKA SMAN 37, including the Head of the Defense Maintenance and Sustainment Agency at the Ministry of Defense, Rear Admiral Supo Dwi Diantara; political communication analyst Hendri Satrio; Jakarta Regional Legislative Council member Nova Harivan Paloh; and musician Katon Bagaskara.
