Boy Rafli: IKASMAN 37 Supports Young Generation in Bringing Honour to Indonesia Globally
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Alumni Association of SMAN 37 Jakarta (IKASMAN 37) is committed to supporting the younger generation in bringing honour to the nation’s name globally through various creative works.
The General Chairperson of IKASMAN 37, retired Police Commissioner General Boy Rafli Amar, responded to the success of the ‘Harmoni untuk Negeri: Kirribilly Road to Liverpool’ concert, stating it proves that Indonesian musical talent is worthy of the international stage.
‘IKASMAN 37 will always provide support to SMAN 37 students if they organise music festivals or art performances in the future,’ he said in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.
The concert, held in Jakarta on Thursday (30/7) evening, also served as a send-off for the music group Kirribilly, which will represent Indonesia at the International Beatleweek 2026 in Liverpool, United Kingdom.
Kirribilly is a Beatles tribute band formed in 2024, consisting of Dikky Lennon (also known as Biwodowidito ‘Dikky’ Witoradyo, an alumnus of SMAN 37 Jakarta), Ade ‘Govinda’, Rafly ‘The Banery’ Abidin, and Ikmal Tobing. The group is scheduled to perform at the International Beatleweek 2026 from 26 August to 1 September.
‘In my opinion, Indonesian musicians are ready to go international. Besides the high level of interest, Indonesian musicians are also highly regarded there; this is a golden opportunity for all of us,’ said Boy Rafli.
The former Head of the National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) believes that Kirribilly’s opportunity to perform at one of the world’s most prestigious Beatles tribute festivals is tangible proof that Indonesian musicians possess global competitiveness.
‘The fact is that Indonesian musicians are reckoned with on an international scale. This is a momentum that must be maintained by all of us, including myself and IKSSMAN 37,’ added Boy Rafli. He noted that music is a universal language capable of transcending national borders while bringing honour to the nation internationally.
Looking ahead, Boy Rafli revealed that IKASMAN 37 is preparing its next musical agenda. The upcoming concert is planned as a tribute to the late Dian Pramana Putra, a legendary Indonesian musician and fellow alumnus of SMAN 37 Jakarta.
‘The next concert being prepared is ’Harmoni untuk Negeri’ Part 2, a tribute to Dian Pramana Putra. It is planned to be held early next year,’ said Boy Rafli.
Currently, alumni of SMAN 37 Jakarta are active in various fields, including BKPM expert staff Iwan Suryana, Head of the Defence Maintenance and Care Agency of the Indonesian Ministry of Defence, Vice Admiral TNI Supo Dwi Diantara, Jakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) member Nova Paloh, Founder of the KedaiKOPI Survey Institute Hendri Satrio, and technology expert Abdul Satar.
