JAKARTA — The narcotics crime directorate team of the Indonesian National Police Criminal Investigation Directorate (Bareskrim Polri) arrested a fugitive in a drug case, Abdul Hamid alias Boy, in Pontianak, West Kalimantan. During preliminary examination, the suspect confessed to having deposited 1.6 billion rupiah to former Bima City Police narcotics head AKP Malaungi.

“On Tuesday (10 March 2026) at 20.00 Western Indonesian Time, a joint team moved to Dedde Hananda’s residence on Jalan Sungai Raya Dalam Gang Radja, RT 011/RW 07, Sungai Raya District, Kubu Raya Regency, Pontianak, and successfully apprehended A Hamid alias Boy in a warehouse beside Dedde Hananda’s house,” said Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, director of the narcotics crime directorate at Bareskrim Polri, in a statement on Thursday (12 March 2026).

Eko stated that the arrest was carried out after the team received information about Boy’s whereabouts, as he was on the wanted persons list (DPO). On 9 March 2026 at approximately 14.30 Western Indonesian Time, the team located Boy at a guest house named 9-Haan Guest House in Pontianak. However, upon checking, the target was no longer at the location.

The team then received new information about another suspected hideout at Komplek Regata Paris, South Pontianak. After conducting surveillance at that location, the team discovered the suspect had relocated. At approximately 20.00 Western Indonesian Time, the team finally moved to a residence on Jalan Sungai Raya Dalam Gang Radja, Kubu Raya Regency. In the warehouse beside the house, officers successfully apprehended Boy.

From a search operation, police seized evidence including 20.4 million rupiah in cash, four XL operator SIM cards, and identity documents including an identity card and driving licence in the name of Abdul Hamid (Boy). He also confessed to depositing 1.6 billion rupiah to the Bima City Police narcotics head AKP Malaungi between May and September 2025. The deposits were allegedly provided in exchange for protection related to the distribution of methamphetamine in the Bima region.
