Box Labeled 'Fragile' Turns Out to Contain 102 Grams of Methamphetamine! 22-Year-Old Man Arrested in Grogol
Police in West Jakarta uncovered a drug trafficking case involving 102.2 grams of methamphetamine in the Grogol area. The operation was conducted by Unit 4, Sub-Directorate 3 of Ditresnarkoba, on Monday, 2 March 2026, at around 10:50 WIB on the side of Semeru Raya Street, in front of an electronics store in Grogol Sub-district, Grogol Petamburan District. A man identified as ERI (22) was arrested, suspected of involvement in narcotics abuse and distribution. From the suspect’s possession, a single plastic clip containing methamphetamine with a gross weight of 102.2 grams was seized. According to Unit Head Rumangga, to mislead officers, the illicit substance had been hidden inside a cardboard box wrapped in black plastic tape bearing the word ‘Fragile’, then placed into a red paper bag. In addition, police secured another piece of evidence, a mobile phone. He urged the public to stay away from drugs as they severely damage the nation’s youth. He said that any narcotics offences uncovered would be pursued and traced to the suppliers. The suspect and the evidence have been taken to the Ditresnarkoba of Polda Metro Jaya for further investigation. Metro Jaya Police Public Relations Head Budi Hermanto urged the public not to involvement in drug abuse or distribution and asked residents to report suspicious activity via the 110 Call Center, which operates 24 hours a day. “Our handling is firm, measured, and professional. Public support is crucial to breaking the chain of drug trafficking,” he said.
