Boskoi Assists in Rutilahu Construction in Bandung Regency
The construction of Uninhabitable Houses (Rutilahu) is not solely the government’s responsibility. Many members of the public and business community are also contributing to the effort.
One such individual is Hartono Soekwanto. Most recently, the entrepreneur known as Bos Koi has assisted in building a Rutilahu for a resident of Bandung Regency.
This time, the home of Saparudin, 56, from Dusun Babakan Cikeruh RT 02 RW 14, Cimekar Village, Cileunyi Subdistrict, which was previously in a pitiful condition, has been repaired through collaboration among various parties.
Bos Koi, Hartono Soekwanto, donated materials for the construction of this Rutilahu on Sunday (5/4). Hartono admitted that he does not keep track of how many homes he has helped repair.
“I help because I want to make others happy. Making people happy is part of worship. So the main point is that no one becomes poor because of giving charity. That doesn’t exist,” he said.
The construction of this Rutilahu received support and was attended by presenter and public figure Irfan Hakim. This artist from Bandung said that in the current social media era, goodness needs to be spread to inspire more people.
“With social media, we can know more and convey things more freely. This goodness also needs to be broadcast so that it inspires many people and opens eyes to the fact that there are still many people living below standard,” he stated.
He also reminded the public to always be grateful and maintain harmony. “Don’t fight. Sometimes when things are tough, it’s peaceful, but when there’s comfort and wealth, it becomes a source of conflict. Hopefully, the people of Bandung Regency remain balageur.”
Inhabited by 12 people
Saparudin admitted he was deeply moved that his house was finally being repaired after years in a damaged state. His home is occupied by 12 family members.
“I feel touched. I express my utmost thanks. I didn’t expect so many people to care, like the Deputy Regent and Mr Hartono coming here directly,” he revealed.
He also mentioned that during the house construction process, he and his family had been provided with temporary rental accommodation. “Alhamdulillah, rental housing has already been prepared.”
Meanwhile, Bandung Deputy Regent Ali Syakieb stated that the Rutilahu programme is the result of collaboration between the government, villages, donors, and the community.
“Today I came to the location, but not alone. I am with Kang Irfan, Mr Hartono, and the team. Alhamdulillah, there are also contributions from Kang Irfan and Mr Hartono to help improve the Rutilahu for the community,” he said.
He acknowledged that information about uninhabitable houses is often obtained from public reports, including through social media.
“Because it was quite buzzing on social media recently. Alhamdulillah, with social media, the government can also find out what is happening in the community,” he said.
Community-driven donations
Meanwhile, Yudha, the initiator of the habitable house renovation, said the construction was carried out through collaboration between the village government, donors, and community self-help.
“Alhamdulillah, we can collaborate with the village and donors for this house construction,” he emphasised.
The government’s Rutilahu programme assistance amounts to Rp20 million. Saparudin’s house received donations from donors and community self-help, including from Hartono Soekwanto, Irfan Hakim, Oghel Zulvianto, DPR RI Member Ahmad Heryawan, and several other donors.
“Alhamdulillah, it has been collected from self-help and donors. From the RAB, the total is around Rp54 million,” he explained.
In addition to house construction, they also plan to help build a small shop so that the beneficiary family can have a business and income.
