BORR construction begins on Wednesday

BOGOR: The construction of the Bogor Outer Ring Road (BORR) has kicked off, with Public Works Minister Djoko Kirmanto leading the ground-breaking ceremony at South Sentul Jagorawi toll gate in Bogor regency on Wednesday.

West Java Governor Dani Setiawan, Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia Datuk Zaenal Abidin Zen, Bogor Mayor Diani Budiarto and Bogor Regent Agus Utara Efendi were present at the ceremony.

The 11-kilometer project costs around Rp 1.3 trillion (US$130 million) and will link South Sentul, Kedung Halang, Yasmin and Dramaga.

The toll road will allow motorists traveling to Jakarta from North Bogor, Tanah Sareal and West Bogor to bypass Bogor proper and go straight to the South Sentul gate of the Jagorawi toll road.

The project is jointly managed by PT Jasa Marga and PT Jasa Sarana, which is owned by the West Java provincial government. --JP
