Magelang — Borobudur Temple management has set a target of approximately 83,000 visitors to the temple located in Magelang Regency, Central Java, during the nine-day Lebaran holiday period in 2026.

Supriadi Jufri, Director of Operations at Borobudur Tourism Park, announced on Friday in Magelang that the target represents a five per cent increase compared to 2025.

He stated that the projected increase in visitor numbers reflects growing public interest in tourism and improvements to various supporting facilities at the Borobudur tourist destination.

The temple management has prepared several anticipatory measures to address the surge in visitors, including the arrangement of parking areas. According to Jufri, the parking location at Kujon land is deemed capable of accommodating tourist vehicles.

“It is estimated that there will still be adequate capacity to meet parking requirements during the holiday period. Nevertheless, management will continue to monitor field conditions to ensure parking capacity remains sufficient should there be a further increase in visitor numbers,” he said.

With these preparations in place, Jufri expressed hope that tourism visits during the Lebaran holiday will proceed smoothly whilst generating positive economic impact for the surrounding community.
