Borneo FC Will Fight Until the End
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Borneo FC coach Fabio Lefundes has affirmed that his team will fight until the end to become champions of the BRI Super League 2025/2026.
Borneo, which currently has 75 points, is in second place in the temporary standings, losing on head-to-head against league leaders Persib Bandung who also have the same number of points.
To become champions, Pesut Etam must win their last two matches, while at the same time hoping that the Maung Bandung squad stumbles.
“Right now we have two more matches where we will try to get full points from these last two matches,” said Lefundes, quoted from the official I.League website, Sunday.
In the upcoming match, Borneo will face hosts Persijap Jepara at Gelora Bumi Kartini Stadium, Jepara, tonight at 7:00 PM WIB, while at the same time their rivals Persib will play away against PSM Makassar.
Lefundes said this match would be difficult for his team, even though his team won the first meeting with a score of 3-1.
“We expect a difficult match because they will definitely want to give their best at home,” said the Brazilian coach.
Furthermore, Lefundes said that he was not under any pressure in the competition for the championship against Persib. He affirmed that he is very motivated, as are his players.
“It’s not pressure, but rather I feel much more motivated. Motivation to continue doing our job,” he concluded.
