Serang (ANTARA) - The commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence in Serang Regency, Banten, was marked by a heart-warming moment when Serang Regent Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah gave a beautiful name to a baby girl born on the historic day, Monday (17/8).

Serang Regent Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah, in Serang on Tuesday, said she had taken the time to visit a resident who had just given birth at the Kramatwatu Community Health Centre. The baby girl is the daughter of Sardina and Masturoh, residents of Kejayan Hamlet, Pejaten Village.

Responding to the special request from the mother, who asked her to give the baby a name, the Regent bestowed a name rich in meaning and prayer.

“Because my name is Rachmatuzakiyah, I have given this baby the name Rachma. And because it coincides with the month of independence, August, I have given her the name Agustina. So, I have named her Rachma Agustina,” said Zakiyah, as the Regent is affectionately known.

At the moment of the 81st Independence Day celebration, Regent Zakiyah also offered prayers and hopes for all the people of Serang Regency, that they continue to nurture a spirit of nationalism, become more prosperous, and always remain united in advancing regional development.

Head of the Serang Regency Health Office, Efrizal, who accompanied the Regent together with Deputy Regent Muhammad Najib Hamas, expressed gratitude and appreciation.

According to Efrizal, the birth of a baby coinciding with Indonesia’s Independence Day is an extraordinary blessing that brings great happiness to the family.

“I think this is an extraordinary blessing. Many people long for a good birth time, and this baby was born on the 17th at 6.00 a.m. Western Indonesia Time. Her fortune is also extraordinary because the Regent and Deputy Regent were willing to attend in person to give her a name. Hopefully, the child will grow up to be a pious daughter,” he said.
