Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA) – The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) RI is developing the Seminarium Integrated School in Nagekeo Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), as part of an effort to broaden access to integrated Catholic education that is oriented toward strengthening the quality of human resources (SDM).

“The construction of this school is a tangible manifestation of Kemenag Berdampak. Education must be a pathway to build human quality, to strengthen character, and to prepare a future generation capable of contributing to society, the Church, and the nation,” said Suparman, Director General of Catholic Community Guidance (Bimas Katolik) of Kemenag RI, in a statement from Kupang on Thursday.

The school is designed to include Seminarium Park, primary, junior high, senior high, and Catholic State University, within a 10-hectare education precinct donated by the Nagekeo Regency Government to Kemenag RI via the Directorate General of Catholic Guidance (Ditjen Bimas Katolik).

According to him, education is an important instrument for producing a generation that excels intellectually, is strong in morals, spirituality, and integrity.

He also expressed appreciation to the Nagekeo Regency Government, customary leaders, religious leaders, and the community, who have provided support for the planned development of the integrated education zone in Flores, including through the land grant as the basis for development.

Meanwhile, Albertus Triyatmojo, Director of Catholic Education at the Directorate General of Catholic Guidance of Kemenag, added that the school is expected to become a model of modern Catholic education that integrates faith, knowledge, character, and local culture.

He believes the development direction aligns with Kemenag’s Asta Protas, particularly in strengthening religious moderation, improving education quality, and building a generation of young people who are humane, inclusive, and competitive.

Head of Regional Office (Kanwil) of Kemenag for East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Fransiskus Kariyanto hopes the construction of the Integrated Seminarium School will be an important milestone for the advancement of Catholic education in NTT.

According to him, the presence of the school is expected not only to strengthen religious education services but also to open broader opportunities for Flores communities, especially the youth, to obtain quality education.
