Boosting Regional Economy, Bank Jakarta Focuses on These Sectors!
Jakarta - Bank Jakarta President Director Agus Haryoto Widodo said that in the first semester of 2026, Bank Jakarta was able to grow well despite issues with purchasing power and inflation. Going forward, Agus said, the bank will remain focused on attractive segments related to development in the Jakarta region.
“For example, infrastructure, health, MSMEs, education, and food, which are attractive segments for regional development banks (BPD) going forward and are target markets for business growth. By focusing on each region, BPDs can become drivers of regional economic growth,” Agus stressed at the 2026 Regional Bank Summit with the theme “Strategic Transformation of BPDs in Driving National Development” on Wednesday (5/8/2026).
One of Bank Jakarta’s efforts to become a driver of regional economic growth is by becoming the parent or anchor of the Kelompok Usaha Bank (KUB) scheme with Bank Maluku Malut. According to him, KUB should be viewed not only as a means to comply with existing regulations, but also as a good collaboration platform.
Bank DKI is building the KUB with several streams, such as finance, risk, operations, technology, and human resources. Some aspects have already been completed, such as risk management, IT, and finance.
“We share within the network, and we build talent management together. Bank Jakarta personnel are placed at Bank Maluku Malut and vice versa,” he stressed.
In practice, Bank Jakarta and Bank Maluku Malut have succeeded in creating value, for example by building joint funding syndication collaboration.
Previously, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said that the formation of the KUB also reflects the spirit of inter-regional synergy to build a more inclusive economic ecosystem, expand access to financial services, and strengthen the business potential and performance of both Bank DKI and Bank Maluku Malut.
“Cooperation through regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) can be a driver of inter-regional business matching that can increase economic added value in each region,” he explained.
Going forward, Governor Pramono continued, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is committed to encouraging Bank DKI to continue expanding cooperative relationships with other BUMDs across Indonesia, as well as transforming into an inclusive, modern, and sustainable regional financial institution.
