Boosting Jakarta's Sport Tourism Sector Through Padel Competition
The Kemayoran Complex Management Centre (PPK Kemayoran) has officially held its first padel tournament as part of the celebrations for the corporation’s 41st anniversary. Carrying the slogan “One Team One Goal”, this competition is projected to serve as an integration platform to strengthen strategic collaboration with dozens of partner corporations in the Central Jakarta area.
This modern racket sport competition took place at the House of Mayor (HOM) Padel Court, Kemayoran, on Saturday (13/06/2026). The tournament recorded participation from dozens of delegates, divided into 28 teams in the Men’s Doubles category and 20 teams in the Women’s Doubles category.
The Director of Regional Empowerment at PPK Kemayoran, Yudi Sugara, explained that the momentum of the institution’s anniversary was intentionally packaged through physical activity. This step aims to align long-term visions in managing state assets in the heart of the capital.
Cross-sector partners in attendance are expected to work towards a single goal: transforming the Kemayoran area into a residential and business cluster that is clean, bright, safe, and based on a green environment.
“This padel tournament is not merely a sporting event, but also a means to strengthen togetherness and reinforce the spirit of collaboration. This theme reflects our hope that all stakeholders and partners can continue to synergise,” Yudi stated in his release on Sunday (14/06/2026).
To optimise interaction between corporations, the organisers also combined the main matches with sports education schemes. These activities included an exclusive one-hour coaching clinic with professional athletes, fun games, open play with gold players, and musical entertainment.
The management also provided incentives in the form of total cash prizes worth IDR 30,000,000 and door prizes worth IDR 35,000,000 for the participating partner members.
The leader of HOM Padel Court, Bryan Hartanto, expressed his support for PPK Kemayoran’s initiative to utilise padel as a new attraction for the urban population.
“This tournament demonstrates that Kemayoran has great potential to become an attractive sports and recreation destination for the public, alongside its status as a national business centre,” said Bryan.
This move aligns with the roadmap for sustainable public facility expansion planned by PPK Kemayoran. In addition to introducing modern padel courts, the management body has previously optimised integrated jogging tracks and revitalised the Kemayoran Indah Golf to boost the sport tourism sector in Jakarta.
