Boosting Fisheries Economy with 350,000 Fish Fry Distributed to Communities
Deputy Chairman of Commission IV of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Ir Panggah Susanto and Commission IV member from the Golkar Party faction, Dadang M. Naser, have distributed 350,000 fish fry to communities in electoral district (dapil) II of West Java. The assistance consisted of 250,000 tilapia fry and 100,000 common carp fry.
One of the distribution locations was in Jayamekar Village, Padalarang District, West Bandung Regency (KBB), on 3 August 2026. Commission IV member from the Golkar Party faction, Dadang M. Naser, through his coordinator, Lutfy Pradana, said the assistance was a follow-up to community aspirations gathered during recess activities.
“This is aspirational assistance from Ir. Panggah Susanto, M.M., Deputy Chairman of Commission IV DPR RI from the Golkar Party faction, and DPR RI Commission IV member from the Golkar Party faction, Dr. H. Dadang M. Naser,” he said, as quoted from a press release received on Saturday (15/8).
According to him, the assistance programme is not limited to distributing fish fry. Recipient communities also receive technical mentoring to support successful aquaculture, including feed provision, production management, and market access.
“Of course, Mr Dadang Naser will always champion community aspirations through sustainable programmes, particularly in the agriculture and livestock sectors,” he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of Commission IV DPR RI from the Golkar Party faction, Panggah Susanto, said the programme is part of efforts to absorb community aspirations while presenting the Golkar Party through programmes that directly address residents’ needs.
“As chairman of Commission IV DPR RI from the Golkar Party faction, I am absorbing aspirations through various programmes for the community, particularly those in electoral districts, as well as the general public across Indonesia,” Panggah asserted.
“We want the Golkar Party to be present among the community and prove its commitment through various targeted programmes, in accordance with the needs of communities in each region,” he continued.
Panggah assessed that distributing programmes that directly address community needs is a tangible form of commitment to championing residents’ aspirations.
One of the beneficiaries in Jayamekar Village, Salsabila, appreciated the fish fry assistance provided to aquaculture groups. According to her, the assistance not only provides fish fry but also opens opportunities for the community to develop aquaculture businesses sustainably.
“Thank you Haji Dadang M. Naser and Mr Panggah Susanto for listening to and championing the aspirations of the Jayamekar Village community. We will safeguard and manage this trust as best as possible so that it provides sustainable benefits,” said Salsabila.
Residents utilise river flows for tilapia aquaculture so that the environment and ecosystem remain preserved and become an additional source of income for residents.
The biofloc stocking activity is part of a campaign to encourage the community to more actively pursue aquaculture as a potential food source.
Officers took samples of surface water, inner and bottom water, as well as fish, which were then taken to the laboratory.
Researcher at the Veterinary Research Centre (PRVet) of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Angela Mariana Lusiastuti, stated that aquatic animal health research activities are focused on developing fish medicines and vaccines.
