Boosting Competence: Diponegoro University Vocational School Partners with Foreign Company

Semarang (ANTARA) - The Vocational School of Diponegoro University (Undip) in Semarang, Central Java, has partnered with a foreign company as one of the efforts to improve the competencies of students at the higher education institution. “Strengthening collaboration between vocational education and the global industry,” said the Dean of Undip’s Vocational School in Semarang, Budiyono, in Semarang on Monday. According to him, students gain direct insights into global industry practices, particularly in the field of food processing and industrial management in Japan. This cooperation, he continued, also includes opportunities for international internship programmes for students of Undip’s Vocational School. He hopes that the programme can serve as a practical learning medium for students to develop technical skills, understand Japanese work culture, and enhance the global competitiveness of Undip’s Vocational School students. “This cooperation is part of the Vocational School’s commitment to preparing graduates who possess integrity, professionalism, and international insight,” he said. In the future, he continued, the cooperation undertaken will not be limited to internship programmes. According to him, the collaboration can develop into providing training, industry-based curriculum development, and employment recruitment opportunities.
