Book 'Sang Arsitek Presisi Polri' Launched, Examining National Police Chief Listyo Sigit's Leadership
Jakarta – Young Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) figure Ali Ramadhan officially launched a book titled ‘Jenderal Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Sang Arsitek Presisi Polri’ (General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, The Precision Architect of the National Police) in Jakarta on Wednesday, 24 June 2026. The book depicts the leadership journey of General Listyo Sigit Prabowo as Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri) and his steps in confronting democratic disruption and addressing the future challenges of the police institution.
“This book reviews the leadership journey of Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo as the Head of the Indonesian National Police, while also offering an analytical framework on the role of the police institution in facing democratic disruption in the digital age,” Ali Ramadhan told reporters.
The book launch was attended by political analyst Boni Hargens, who wrote the prologue, and Associate Professor Firdaus Syam, a lecturer in politics at Universitas Nasional, who served as a discussant. Ali Ramadhan explained that the book is divided into two main parts: the first, ‘Foundation and Vision’, describes his career path and the concept of PRESISI transformation (Predictive, Responsibility, and Transparency with Justice).
“The second part carries the theme ‘Democratic Disruption & the Future Bhayangkara Corps’, which analyses the current challenges faced by the National Police, including the large-scale demonstrations in August-September 2025, accompanied by a review of the National Police Grand Strategy 2025-2045,” Ali Ramadhan clarified.
The book, spanning over 300 pages, is structured into five main chapters, preceded by a prologue written by political analyst Boni Hargens and concluded with a closing section titled ‘Transformation of the National Police Towards the Future Bhayangkara’. Through a narrative and analytical approach, the book reconstructs Listyo Sigit Prabowo’s career path from his first assignment in Tangerang, his role as an aide to President Joko Widodo, to his appointment as National Police Chief in January 2021.
Beyond biographical aspects, the book dissects the PRESISI vision (Predictive, Responsibility, and Transparency with Justice) as a working paradigm for the National Police and places it within an academic framework of democratic disruption. It references the thoughts of Clayton Christensen, Jürgen Habermas, and Fareed Zakaria to explain the role of the police institution as a shock absorber amidst social polarisation pressures, social media virality, and rising public expectations.
