Shares of PT Bank Mega Tbk. (MEGA) soared up to 20% during the morning trading session on Friday (10/4/2026). MEGA closed up 19.37% at a price of IDR 3,020 per unit in the morning session.

Bank Mega’s President Director, Kostaman Thayib, stated that the sharp movement in the shares correlates with the momentum of the ex-date for the cash dividend and bonus share distribution.

“Today is the ex-date for the cash dividend and bonus share distribution of Bank Mega,” he said when contacted by CNBC Indonesia on Friday (10/4/2026).

On the ex-date, investors who purchase the shares are no longer entitled to the dividend or bonus shares. However, in this case, the bonus share distribution with a large ratio (1:1) increases the number of circulating shares and theoretically makes the share price more affordable.

This condition often triggers increased liquidity and attracts retail investors as well as short-term traders.

Bank Mega distributed cash dividends for the 2025 fiscal year amounting to IDR 2 trillion, or equivalent to IDR 171.95 per share. This amount represents a 91.82% increase compared to the dividend distribution for the 2024 fiscal year.

In addition, Bank Mega will distribute bonus shares derived from the capitalisation of additional paid-in capital (share premium) with a total value of IDR 5.87 trillion. The company will distribute 11.74 billion bonus shares, where the bonus shares are distributed proportionally based on the share ownership of each MEGA shareholder at a 1:1 ratio.

Both corporate actions were agreed upon at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) held at the Bank Mega Tower Auditorium, Jakarta, on Tuesday (31/3/2026).

Meanwhile, the shares of this mid-cap bank owned by CT Corp have experienced a high increase in share movement, differing from the shares of major Indonesian banks.

Notably, MEGA shares have risen 84.15% throughout the year. At its highest point this year, MEGA reached a price of IDR 5,150 per share, specifically in February, before the bonus share distribution.
