Bontang Mayor Inaugurates LNG Badak Clinic's Physio Centre

The Mayor of Bontang, Neni Moerniaeni, inaugurated the Grand Opening of the Physio Centre and celebrated the 11th anniversary of the LNG Badak Primary Clinic on Thursday, 25 June 2026. The event underscored that meeting the Minimum Service Standards (SPM) in health is a key priority for the Bontang City Government. Mayor Neni Moerniaeni commended the LNG Badak Hospital Foundation, hospital management, and all healthcare workers for their tireless commitment to improving the quality of health services for the people of Bontang. “Health is everything. No matter how much wealth a person has, it is meaningless without good health. Therefore, the presence of the Physio Centre is very important to help people who need rehabilitation and physiotherapy services,” she said. The Mayor also praised the LNG Badak Hospital for providing health services outside the company’s exclusive area, making them more accessible to the general public. This initiative supports the Minimum Service Standards and the strategic goals of the Bontang City Government as outlined in the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD). “The Bontang City Government supports the development of all existing health facilities. We hope this Physio Centre can become a leading and referral service for the community, prioritising patient safety, professional healthcare workers, and continuously improving service quality,” she stated. From a technical service perspective, Hospital Director Nurul Fathoni reported that the Physio Centre had been trialled since early June and received a positive response from residents. The average daily visits reach around 20 patients, addressing medical rehabilitation needs for stroke patients, geriatric cases, orthopaedic trauma, and child development. “We are implementing a ‘One Patient, One Physio, One Hour’ concept to provide more intensive treatment so the recovery process can be more optimal,” he explained. Representing the board, the General Chairman of the LNG Badak Hospital Foundation, Kurnia Bagus Mantik, said the 11th anniversary achievement of the LNG Badak Primary Clinic was the result of solid teamwork. He expressed hope that the Physio Centre would be managed professionally and sustainably to provide wider benefits to the community. The event concluded with a thanksgiving ceremony, including the cutting of a tumpeng for the clinic’s 11th anniversary, the unveiling of the Physio Centre’s name board and ribbon-cutting by the Mayor, followed by an inspection of the physiotherapy service facilities. The presence of this Physio Centre strengthens the synergy between the government, health facilities, and the business sector in improving the health status of the Bontang community.
