Bontang Mayor Inaugurates LNG Badak Clinic's Physio Centre
The Mayor of Bontang, Neni Moerniaeni, inaugurated the Grand Opening of the Physio Centre and celebrated the 11th anniversary of the LNG Badak Primary Clinic on Thursday, 25 June 2026.
This initiative serves as evidence that fulfilling Minimum Service Standards (SPM) in the healthcare sector remains a top priority for the Bontang City Government.
Neni Moerniaeni expressed her appreciation to the LNG Badak Hospital Foundation, the hospital management, and all healthcare professionals who remain tirelessly committed to improving the quality of healthcare services for the people of Bontang.
“Health is everything. No matter how much wealth a person possesses, it will be meaningless without good health. Therefore, the presence of the Physio Centre is vital to assist those in need of rehabilitation and physiotherapy services,” she stated.
Neni also commended the LNG Badak Hospital for providing healthcare services outside the company’s exclusive zone, making them more accessible to the general public. This aligns with efforts to support the Minimum Service Standards and the strategic objectives of the Bontang City Government as outlined in the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD).
“The Bontang City Government supports the development of all existing healthcare facilities. We hope this Physio Centre can become a flagship service and a referral point for the community, while prioritising patient safety, professional healthcare workers, and continuously improving service quality,” she added.
Regarding technical services, the Director of LNG Badak Hospital, Nurul Fathoni, reported that the Physio Centre services have been trialled since early June and have received a positive response from residents. On average, visits reach approximately 20 patients per day, addressing medical rehabilitation needs for stroke patients, geriatric care, orthopaedic trauma, and child development.
“We are implementing a ‘One Patient, One Physio, One Hour’ concept to ensure patients receive more intensive handling, allowing the recovery process to be more optimal,” he explained.
Representing the management, the Chairperson of the LNG Badak Hospital Foundation, Kurnia Bagus Mantik, stated that the achievements of the LNG Badak Primary Clinic at age 11 are the result of teamwork. He expressed hope that the Physio Centre would be managed professionally and sustainably to provide broader benefits to the wider community.
The event concluded with a traditional ‘tumpeng’ rice cutting ceremony to mark the 11th anniversary, the official inauguration of the Physio Centre via a curtain unveiling and ribbon-cutting by the Mayor of Bontang, and a tour of the physiotherapy facilities.
