Bontang Deputy Mayor Opens 2026 Paskibraka Training, Urges Integrity
Deputy Mayor of Bontang Agus Haris opened the 2026 Paskibraka (Heritage Flag Raising Squad) Centralised Education and Training at Besai Berinta Stadium on Friday, 17 July 2026. The event was marked by the symbolic pinning of caps and participant badges by Agus Haris to two representatives of the Bontang City Paskibraka candidates.
Representing the Mayor of Bontang, Agus Haris congratulated all participants who passed the objective and competitive selection process. According to him, being selected as a Paskibraka member is not merely a source of pride, but a mandate that must be upheld with discipline, responsibility, and integrity.
He stated that the task of raising the Red and White flag at the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia is not just a ceremonial sequence, but a form of respect for the struggles of heroes and a mandate to safeguard the nation’s future. ‘Amidst the rapid changes of the times, Indonesia needs a generation that is not only intelligent but also possesses integrity, character, and a strong national spirit,’ he said.
Agus Haris also reminded participants to utilise the entire education and training series as a process of character building. Through disciplined exercises, teamwork, responsibility, and perseverance, participants are expected to grow into resilient individuals ready to serve the nation.
According to Agus, human resource development is a crucial foundation in realising a more advanced, prosperous, and sustainable Bontang City. Therefore, the Paskibraka training is part of the effort to prepare future leaders who have integrity, a nationalist spirit, and a passion for service.
The event was also attended by the Head of the Bontang City National Unity and Politics Agency (Kesbangpol) Deddy Haryanto, Training Coordinator from Kodim 0908/Bontang Captain Inf. Niko Katanni, Training Coordinator from Polres Bontang Ipda Susi Hendrawati, Training Coordinator from Arhanud Battalion 7/ABC Second Lieutenant Arh. Surya WH, members of the Paskibraka Alumni Association (PPI), and the participants’ parents.
Agus also expressed his appreciation to all trainers, mentors, Paskibraka alumni, TNI and Polri personnel, health workers, psychologists, the organising committee, as well as parents and teachers who have supported the best sons and daughters of Bontang City to attend the training. He advised the participants not only to be proud of having been Paskibraka, but to uphold the values of honesty, discipline, and dedication throughout their lives.
‘The Red and White is not only raised by strong hands, but will continue to fly because it is guarded by hearts of integrity,’ he said.
