The Bontang City Government is committed to promoting digital transformation to improve the quality of public services and optimise regional revenue. This commitment was demonstrated through a High-Level Meeting of the Regional Digitalisation Acceleration and Expansion Team (TP2DD) for 2026 at the Mayor’s official residence on Thursday, 23 July 2026. In addition to driving digital transformation, the event served as a momentum to evaluate the implementation of the first semester of the Regional Government Transaction Electronification (ETPD). Bontang Mayor Neni Moerniaeni emphasised that strengthening the TP2DD synergy and the first-semester ETPD evaluation are crucial steps to ensure that every digital innovation delivers tangible benefits to the community. “Through strengthening the TP2DD synergy and the first-semester evaluation of regional government transaction electronification, we want to ensure that every digital innovation truly makes services easier, governance more transparent, and is able to optimise regional revenue for the greatest welfare of the people of Bontang City,” said Neni. According to her, the evaluation is not only aimed at measuring the Regional Government Transaction Electronification Index (IETPD) achievement but also serves as a means to identify various challenges, strengthen coordination among stakeholders, and formulate strategic steps to improve the quality of public services through the use of digital technology. Neni explained that the electronification of regional government transactions brings significant benefits, ranging from increasing the transparency and accountability of regional financial management, minimising potential revenue leakage, and accelerating payment processes, to improving service efficiency, expanding non-cash payment access, and supporting data-based decision-making. However, she reminded that the success of digitalisation is not solely measured by the availability of applications, QRIS, EDC machines, or other electronic payment channels. “What is more important is building a shared commitment, strengthening synergy among regional apparatuses, and ensuring that all these innovations are truly utilised by the community,” she asserted. Neni also invited all TP2DD members to continue strengthening collaboration with Bank Indonesia, Bankaltimtara, vertical agencies, business actors, and all stakeholders. According to her, strong synergy will serve as the foundation for accelerating the implementation of regional government transaction electronification while increasing public trust in government services. On a technical note, Acting Regional Secretary of Bontang City, Akhmad Suharto, explained the development of the regional government transaction electronification implementation and the performance of TP2DD. He stated that digital transactions have shown a consistently positive trend from 2022 up to the first semester of 2026. Based on the first-semester achievements of 2026, 83.4 percent of regional tax transactions have been realised digitally, while 9.4 percent are still conducted using a semi-digital system. For regional retributions, digital transactions have reached 95.3 percent, with the remaining 4.7 percent still processed semi-digitally. Suharto also conveyed that the target for regional tax and retribution revenue in 2026 is IDR 355,730,725,625, with a realisation of IDR 182,462,519,475.93 in the first semester. “This development demonstrates the Bontang City Government’s commitment to accelerating digital transformation, particularly in the regional revenue sector,” he said.
