Boni Hargens: Collaboration Between Polri, TNI, and BIN Strengthens National Economic-Security Stability

Jakarta, VIVA – Senior political analyst Boni Hargens has commended the firm and prompt actions of President Prabowo Subianto in issuing instructions to four key state officials prior to his departure for Russia, namely TNI Commander Agus Subiyanto, Police Chief Listyo Sigit, BIN Head Muh Herindra, and Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa. According to Boni, cross-sectoral collaboration is a vital step in maintaining economic and security stability amid uncertain geopolitical conditions resulting from the war in the Middle East. “This instruction is a signal that cannot be ignored by the President’s aides. President Prabowo’s swift action represents a significant asset that demands a symmetrical response from his aides and state institution leaders across all sectors,” Boni Hargens told reporters in Jakarta on Tuesday, 14 April 2026. Boni Hargens emphasised that a symmetrical response is not merely bureaucratic formality but a strategic necessity. Every institution receiving the President’s directives must respond with concrete, measurable, and accountable actions to the public. Alignment of efforts between Polri, TNI, BIN, and the Ministry of Finance is key to the success of this anti-smuggling agenda. “One factor driving President Prabowo’s optimism in expanding the economic law enforcement front is the Attorney General’s success in saving state funds. In his leadership period, which has only been running for 1.5 years, the amount of state asset recovery has reached an extraordinarily significant figure of around Rp 31.3 trillion,” Boni asserted. Boni specifically highlighted the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration between the three main security institutions, Polri, TNI, and BIN, in addressing potential threats to national economic and security stability. According to him, this collaboration is not merely technical coordination but a strategic synergy that must be built on a foundation of trust, open communication, and clear division of roles. “Each institution brings unique capabilities that complement one another. Polri excels in civil law enforcement, criminal investigations, and operational capabilities at the community level. TNI possesses strength in border security, military equipment capabilities, and operational reach in remote areas. Meanwhile, BIN has an extensive intelligence network, threat analysis capabilities, and cross-border information access that is vital for identifying smuggling patterns and networks,” he explained.
