Bomb threat in Makassar

MAKASSAR, South Sulawesi: A bomb threat was received at the
Denpasar Hotel in Makassar on Tuesday morning, causing panic
among the hotel's employees and guests.

The threat was made by a man who had called the hotel's
receptionist, Syamsianah Arsyad. The caller said there was a
package containing a bomb ready to explode in the hotel, which is
situated between two shopping malls.

East Makassar police officers and the bomb squad unit who
arrived and inspected the scene, did not find the suspicious
package described in the threat.

The police detectives are currently trying to track down the
phone number used by the man who made the bomb threat. -- Antara
