Bomb Threat at South Jakarta Primary School Sent by Student's Parent, Who Then Picked Up Child

Police have revealed the identity of MY (34), the perpetrator who sent a bomb threat to SDN Srengseng Sawah 15 Pagi in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. The perpetrator is the parent of a student at the school. “After the perpetrator was detained, it turned out his child also attends the school,” said the Director of Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya, Senior Commissioner Iman Imannudin, to reporters on Monday (13/7/2026). Iman stated that the perpetrator picked up his child after sending the message. Students at the school were dismissed and sent home following the bomb threat. “This morning, the individual also picked up his child from school after being notified of the terror threat,” he added. Based on preliminary investigations, the perpetrator claimed he was playing a prank when he sent the threat. Police are continuing to investigate this claim. The threat was sent while students were conducting a morning assembly. After a sweep by the Gegana team and Densus 88 Anti-terror, no explosives were found at the location. Police are still examining the perpetrator MY after his arrest for sending the bomb threat to SDN Srengseng Sawah 15 Pagi, Jagakarsa. Police will conduct a psychological examination of the perpetrator. “That is correct (the perpetrator’s mental state will be checked),” said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit at the South Jakarta Metro Police, First Inspector Alpino De Tech, at the South Jakarta Metro Police headquarters. Police will involve forensic psychology and apply scientific crime investigation (SCI) methods to thoroughly investigate the motive and involvement of the perpetrator regarding the bomb terror. “To comprehensively uncover and explore the motive and involvement of the perpetrator, investigators will involve forensic psychology and apply scientific crime investigation methods through the examination of digital evidence, forensic analysis, and other scientific approaches,” he explained. Alpino stated that the perpetrator MY is currently still a witness. Police are still conducting intensive examinations of MY.
