Bomb Threat at SDN Srengseng Sawah 15 Proven a Hoax, Pramono Confirms Classes Continue

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has confirmed that teaching and learning activities at SDN Srengseng Sawah 15 in South Jakarta have returned to normal after a bomb threat that caused a stir was proven to be a hoax. Pramono stated that the results of the on-site inspection showed no suspicious objects or bombs were found within the school environment. Nevertheless, he stressed that law enforcement officials will follow up on the case. “After being investigated and checked in the field, it turned out there was nothing. There was a person who made the threat, and for that, law enforcement officials will follow up,” Pramono said in North Jakarta on Tuesday (14/7). Although the situation has been declared safe, Pramono urged all parties to remain vigilant to prevent similar incidents from recurring. “Now the school is operating as usual, but I still ask for vigilance,” he said. Regarding psychological support or trauma healing, Pramono said he had received a direct report from the Head of the Jakarta Education Agency who visited the location. Based on the monitoring, the students did not show any trauma from the incident. According to him, it was the parents who felt more worried. “I saw, and yesterday also received a report from the Head of the Education Agency who went directly to the field. The students were fine. In fact, the students felt it was normal. Only the parents were worried,” he revealed. For this reason, the Jakarta Provincial Government is still allowing parents to accompany their children to school until Wednesday (15/7). This policy was taken to help parents feel more at ease after the bomb threat. “That is why until Wednesday we allow parents to take their children to school and so on, so that the parents themselves also feel comfortable,” Pramono said.
