Bomb threat at brother of Pope Leo XIV reported unfounded

Washington (ANTARA) - A bomb threat was reported at the home of Pope Leo XIV’s brother on Wednesday night (15/4), as reported by NewsNation on Thursday, citing a statement from the New Lenox Police Department. However, the bomb threat report appears to be unfounded, and there are no reports of any injured victims. Earlier this week, US President Donald Trump criticised Pope Leo XIV in a Truth Social post, stating that Trump does not need the presence of a Pope who opposes US policies. Trump added that he prefers the Pope’s brother, Louis, because he is fully ideologically aligned with MAGA (Make America Great Again). Pope Leo XIV criticised US actions in Iran, specifically stating that the US threats against the Iranian people are unacceptable. Following a call from US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth to pray for military personnel, Pope Leo XIV stated in a homily that the desire to dominate others is not in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ.
