Bomb scare at money changer

BANDUNG: A suspected bomb was found in the restroom of the Golden Megah Money Changer on Jl. Oto Iskandar Dinata on Wednesday afternoon.

The man who found the bomb, Asep, said he was going to use the restroom when three young men entered ahead of him with a package wrapped in a cement bag.

He said the three arrived at the money changer on two motorcycles, and one of them was wearing a yellow shirt.

Suspicious, Asep called a policeman who removed the package from the building. The bomb squad arrived half an hour later.

The incident put a temporary halt to activities at the money changer.

Bandung was rocked by a bomb blast last Christmas Eve, resulting in the deaths of four people.

However, Bandung Police chief Sr. Comr. Timur Pradopo stated that the package at the money changer did not contain a bomb.

"The package only consisted of toiletries," he remarked. (25)
