Bomb found in traffic police post

BANDA ACEH, Aceh: Aceh Besar police found a handmade bomb left
by unidentified persons at a traffic police post on Simpang Jam,
Taman Sari, in downtown Banda Aceh on Tuesday, thanks to passers-
by.

Deputy chief of the security restoration operation Comr.
Miyanto said on Tuesday that the handmade bomb equipped with a
timer had been detonated by the Aceh police's bomb-squad.

Miyanto said that witnesses reported seeing two unidentified
people on a motorbike stop at the traffic police post at 6:30
a.m. and leave behind a package wrapped in a red plastic bag.

"According to the timer, the TNT explosive should have
exploded at 8 a.m.," he said.

Miyanto speculated that the explosives had been planted by
members of Free Aceh Movement (GAM). "They just wanted to
