Bojonggede-Sentul Bogor Electric Bus Begins Operations, Free for 3 Months
The Bogor Regency Government (Pemkab Bogor) is conducting a trial of electric bus services on the Bojonggede Station-Sentul route. Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto stated that the bus will be free for the three-month trial period. “This electric bus uses 100 percent electric power and is 100 percent free for the public during the trial period. This is our initial step to introduce environmentally friendly public transportation in Bogor Regency,” said Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto in a written statement on Monday (5/4/2026). Rudy noted that the electric bus is an effort by Pemkab Bogor to support the central government in energy conservation. The three-month electric bus trial began on Sunday (5/4). “In the initial phase, four units of electric buses will be operated during the trial period. If there is a positive response from the public, the number of fleets will be increased and operated permanently through a buy-the-service (BTS) scheme, with subsidy support from the central and local governments,” said Rudy. Rudy stated that the electric bus serves the Bojonggede Station-Sentul City route with several stopping points. The route was chosen due to the high mobility of residents at Bojonggede Station, which reaches around 50,000 users every day. “The electric bus trial period is planned to last for the next three months. If public enthusiasm is high, Pemkab Bogor plans to add more fleets and expand the service routes to several other areas,” he said.
