The General Elections Commission (KPU) has been overwhelmed
lately not only by internal conflicts between political party
executives, but also by the many cases of legislative candidates
using forged diplomas.

Various circles describe the situation as a reflection of the
nation's low quality of education and at the same time the poor
ethics of those signing up as would-be legislators or
councillors.

Just imagine if such uneducated people and impostors were able
to pass the selection process and be elected as representatives.
How would Indonesia have a strong government if its prospective
legislators and national leaders failed to set good examples?

Nevertheless, we should not be over pessimistic in facing the
unfavorable conditions. We are still convinced that far better
groups and individuals can be found in the country.
