Bogor’s Suryakencana Road: Parking Shift Leads to Smoother Traffic Flow

Bogor - Parking spaces on Jalan Suryakencana in Bogor City have now been shifted to the right side, having previously been on the left side since Tuesday, 21 April 2026. Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim stated that the parking side change has been trialled, with interim results showing smoother traffic flow. “Because parking on the left side, combined with angkot stops, created two layers that obstructed traffic behind them. Now, with the current position, there is more leeway for public transport, and parking has been arranged properly, making it more orderly,” he said, quoted from an official statement on Friday (24/4/2026). Meanwhile, the Bogor City Transportation Department (Dishub) will gradually install the necessary signs while monitoring the situation. Complementing this, the Head of the Bogor City Transportation Department (Kadishub), Sujatmiko Baliarto, said that the shift of parking to the right side has been implemented simultaneously and integrally by the parking attendants. “Some vehicles were still adapting yesterday, but overall, it is already in line. Technically, the right-side pavement is wider, so pedestrianisation can be more comfortable,” he stated. Meanwhile, regarding congestion at Simpang Gang Aut, Sujatmiko said it occurs due to high vehicle volumes, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled, while the road width is not very large. To smooth traffic flow, they will also try traffic engineering to make it smoother.
