Bogor's 544th Anniversary to Feature Museum Launch and Public Service Initiatives
The Bogor City Government, West Java, has confirmed that the full series of events for the 544th Bogor Anniversary (HJB) is ready to be held, ranging from the launch of the Pajajaran Museum and population administration services to the Pajajaran Festival (Helaran Pajajaran) which will conclude the celebrations.
Speaking at the Bogor City Hall on Tuesday, Mayor Dedie Rachim ensured that the agenda, scheduled to run from 3 June 2026 and continue for several weeks, has been thoroughly prepared. He explained that the 544th HJB commemorations will begin with a ceremony at the Bogor City Hall Plaza, followed by a plenary session of the Bogor City Regional House of Representatives (DPRD).
The plenary session will include the launch of the Bogor City Hymn, the handover of regional regulations in Braille from the Ministry of Social Affairs to the DPRD, and the presentation of awards to various parties recognised for their contributions to Bogor City, including the composer of the Bogor City Hymn.
In the afternoon, the Bogor City Government will hold the soft launch of the Pajajaran Museum as an initial step to introduce the museum, which is intended to serve as a centre for regional historical and cultural education. “This soft launch is intended to introduce the Pajaret Museum, which we must build together. Additionally, it aims to enrich the museum’s collection, which will undergo curation in the future,” said Dedie.
In addition to cultural activities, the 544th HJB celebrations will include several public service programmes. The Bogor City Government will distribute birth certificates to babies born on 3 June 2026 and provide electronic ID cards (KTP-el) to residents turning 17 on the city’s anniversary. The Head of the Bogor City Population and Civil Registration Office, Ganjar Gunawan, noted that 13 prospective recipients of electronic ID cards have been recorded to receive their documents during the HJB 544 momentum. Meanwhile, based on birth estimates, two pregnant women are expected to give birth on 3 June 2026 and will receive birth certificates for their infants.
In the health sector, the Bogor City Health Office is preparing mass circumcision activities for 544 children, to be conducted simultaneously across 25 community health centres (puskesmas) starting from 2 June 2026.
Dedie requested all regional agencies to manage the timing of these activities effectively to ensure the entire series of events runs smoothly and comfortably for the public. “I remind everyone that the events should not last too long. The timing of activities must be well-regulated so that they can be enjoyed by the community smoothly and comfortably,” he said.
The 544th HJB series will conclude with the Pajajaran Festival or Helaran Pajajaran on 27 June 2026, featuring various cultural attractions and community participation. The Deputy Mayor of Bogor, Jenal Mutaqin, stated that the anniversary commemoration should serve as a momentum to provide real benefits to citizens through various local government programmes and services. “The Bogor Anniversary must serve as a gift to the people of Bogor City, because the anniversary is a celebration for all residents of Bogor,” said Jenal.
