Bogor, West Java - The Bogor Zoological Museum (Museum Zoologicum Bogoriense) has introduced an immersive space called Immerzoa as an innovation to provide interactive experiences for visitors whilst strengthening education about Indonesia’s biodiversity.

The Immerzoa space was developed by PT Mitra Natura Raya, which manages the Botanical Garden, in collaboration with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and supported by SIMPATI as a brand partner in delivering immersive visual technology at the museum.

Managing Director of PT Mitra Natura Raya Marga Anggrianto, during the introduction of Immerzoa in Bogor on Wednesday, stated that the space represents part of the museum’s transformation to move beyond merely a repository of specimen collections towards a more vibrant and interactive educational space.

“This transformation changes the museum from simply a specimen storage space into an immersive and interactive space that is educational for museum visitors,” he said.

According to him, Immerzoa was designed as a visual experience space that combines immersive technology with narrative art, allowing visitors not only to view rare animal collections but also to understand stories and unique facts about Indonesian fauna through interactive technology.

“Immerzoa combines visual technology with narrative art. Through Immerzoa, education about the richness of the archipelago’s biodiversity is no longer merely static artefacts, but a living emotional experience brought to life before visitors’ eyes,” he said.

Manager of the Event Department Rizki Ramadhan added that during the soft opening phase, Immerzoa displayed various visuals played repeatedly in a single performance session lasting approximately 20 minutes as the main attraction for visitors.

He stated that the collaboration with SIMPATI not only delivered a visual space but also fostered the development of a narrative ecosystem that utilises digital connectivity to create a more immersive experience.

“Together with SIMPATI, Immerzoa does not simply remain as a visual space, but evolves into a narrative ecosystem that transcends static boundaries,” he said.

At the grand opening stage, he explained, the Immerzoa experience will guide visitors through three emotional chapters: awareness of Earth’s vastness as a shared home, exploration of Indonesia’s fauna wealth from Wallace’s line to Weber’s line, and reflection on threats of ecological crisis and habitat loss for wildlife.

Alongside the immersive space, the Zoological Museum’s transformation is also equipped with an Interactive Book installation in the mammal section that merges physical books with interactive cinematic technology.

The installation features a story titled “Aira & The Forest Guardians” that presents a narrative about the role of mammals in maintaining forest ecosystem balance and encourages visitors to understand the importance of living in harmony with nature.

To complement the visitor experience, the management also offers a commercial area consisting of Cula Cafe, a grab-and-go concept rest area, and Sora Merchandise, which provides various fauna-themed souvenir products from the Immerzoa experience.
