My hope and desire is for the perpetrator to receive a proportionate punishment. Taking someone’s life means they must lose their own; that is my wish. A life for a life. If possible, the death penalty, or at least life imprisonment,” said the victim’s uncle and adoptive father, Syamsudin (52), on Sunday (24/5/2026).

“The deceased was my child who did nothing wrong. If someone wanted to take her possessions—wealth, jewellery, a car—fine. But do not take what belongs to the Almighty, which is a person’s life,” he added.

Syamsudin also praised the police’s swift action in identifying the victim and arresting the suspect within 24 hours.

“I, as an individual and the parent of the deceased, offer my heartfelt thanks to the police. In such a short time—too brief to count in hours—all has been uncovered. The victim was discarded from the toll road without identification, but her identity was revealed through fingerprints,” said Syamsudin.

“Thanks to the cooperation of all police personnel, both in Bogor and the provincial police, Alhamdulillah, within less than 24 hours—just hours—the suspect has been apprehended and is now held at the West Java Police headquarters,” he added.

The suspect in the murder of a 25-year-old woman, identified as AA, who was found dead on Sholeh Iskandar (Sholis) Street in Bogor City, West Java, was arrested by Bogor City Police and West Java Police. The suspect has now been formally charged in connection with the case.

“The suspect has been detained and charged, along with the seizure of evidence,” said Bogor City Police’s Reskrim Head, Kompol Bagus Azi Lesmana Putra, on Sunday (24/5/2026).

The suspect was arrested following a crash while being pursued by police on the toll road, several hours after the victim was found lying on Saturday (23/5). It emerged that the suspect had thrown the victim from the Bogor Outer Ring Road (BORR) toll road onto Sholis Street.

“Yes, the victim was thrown from the toll road down to Sholis Street. That is all for now; full details will be provided at tomorrow’s press release,” said Azi.
