Bogor Vocational School Students Arrested After Violent Graduation Convoy in Search of Rivals

Police have arrested four individuals in connection with a graduation convoy by vocational school students and alumni in Bogor Regency, West Java. They are suspected of travelling through the Klapanunggal and Jonggol areas while seeking rivals. ‘Those are vocational school students celebrating their graduation in Klapanunggal, then they proceeded in a convoy from Klapanunggal to Jonggol, and then towards Cileungsi,’ said Cileungsi Police Chief Kompol Edison on Saturday (30 May 2026). The students live-streamed their convoy on Instagram. He stated they were searching for rivals and carrying weapons during the procession. ‘On Instagram, they were live-streaming while looking for enemies, as some alumni were also present, so it wasn’t purely a graduation celebration. There were alumni involved,’ he explained. Edison added that the group challenged other school groups they encountered along the way, but no one responded to the challenges until they reached Cileungsi Terminal. ‘Upon arriving at Cileungsi Terminal, they stopped and set off smoke bombs that obstructed the road. It was then that we intervened to disperse them,’ he said. After being dispersed by officers, the students fled in disarray. The weapons used by the students were taken away by the group during their escape. Subsequently, police arrested four individuals, one of whom is an alumnus. The suspects were then counselled and returned to their respective parents. ‘We secured them, and earlier today we handed them over to their parents,’ he concluded.
