Bogor to process ID card on-line

BOGOR: In a bid to provide its community members with a fast, inexpensive service, Bogor city administration plans to apply an on-line application system for identity cards as early as next year.

"The system will use the Internet to facilitate the process and minimize the fees that people have been complaining about," Bogor public relations head Zenal Arifin said on Tuesday, adding that districts should prepare themselves.

He added that if the project succeeded, the administration would also develop a similar on-line application system for other permits such as building permits.

Bogor residents can avail of an on-line payment system for land and building taxes launched last month. -- Antara
