Bogor to build five overpasses

BOGOR (JP): The Bogor mayoralty administration will begin construction on five overpasses to ease traffic on streets that intersect railway tracks.

Administration secretary Itoch Tochija said on Tuesday each overpass would cost the mayoralty between Rp 20 billion (US$2.1 million) and Rp 30 billion.

The overpasses will be built on Jl. Raya Baru Kemang, Jl. MA Salmun, Jl. Martadinata, Jl. Kebonpedes and Jl. Pemuda.

There is always traffic congestion along these streets during peak hours as a result of the construction of double tracks for intercity trains plying the Jakarta to Bogor route. The trains pass along the tracks every six minutes.

A team of city officials and city councillors has been formed to conduct a preliminary survey, Itoch said. (21)
