Bogor Resident Receives Decent Housing Through National Police Chief's House Renovation Programme

Itoh (55), a resident of Bogor, West Java, was moved to tears following the completion of his home renovation under the Uninhabitable Housing Renovation Programme (RTLH), an initiative by National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. The renovation programme was carried out in collaboration with the Indonesian Police Lovers Community (Masyarakat Pecinta Polisi Indonesia) to assist underprivileged citizens living in substandard housing.

The condition of Itoh’s residence, which was previously in a deplorable state, has been completely transformed into a cleaner, sturdier, and more habitable building.

“Thank you… thank you very much, Mr. Police Chief, for your kindness and assistance,” said Itoh on Sunday (2/8/2026).

For Itoh, the renovation holds profound meaning. The house serves as his primary support in caring for his 37-year-old child, who is a person with a disability. Before the repairs, the dilapidated condition of the building caused him great concern regarding his ability to care for his late mother in that environment.

Although his mother passed away coincidentally with the completion of the renovation, Itoh expressed his deep gratitude as the new house can now be used appropriately for religious memorial services (tahlilan) for the deceased.

“Even though my mother passed away at the same time the house renovation was completed, I am still grateful. I originally intended to care for her here, but could not due to the poor conditions. Now, this house can be used for her memorial services. All of this is thanks to the assistance of the Police Chief,” he said.

He offered sincere prayers for the safety and health of the National Police Chief and his officers, who have shown care for the plight of the grassroots community.

This social action was organised as part of a series of activities to commemorate the 80th Bhayangkara Day.
