Bogor Regent Urges Residents to Report to RT/RW Before Eid al-Fitr Homecoming

Bogor Regency (ANTARA) – Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto has urged residents planning to mudik to their hometowns to report to the local RT or RW before leaving their homes during the Eid al-Fitr holidays in 2026.

Speaking in Cibinong on Sunday, he said such reporting is important so that residents who leave their dwellings can be properly recorded in their respective communities.

He explained that data gathering on those who undertake mudik will assist the local government together with security forces in monitoring the neighbourhood during the Eid al-Fitr mudik period.

“For the residents of Bogor Regency who are mudik to their hometowns, we urge you to provide information or report to the local RT/RW,” said Rudy.

He added that with reports from residents, the neighbourhood can identify houses that are left unoccupied, thereby maintaining area security.

Rudy also said that the Bogor Regency government, together with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of Bogor Regency, will conduct regular patrols during the mudik period. The patrols will be carried out in a hierarchical manner, from the regency level down to the district and village administrations, to ensure the environment remains safe.

He hoped the measure would provide residents with a sense of security as they travel home for mudik.

“As people return to their hometowns for mudik, God willing, we will together safeguard the homes and belongings left behind,” Rudy said.

The Bogor Regency government also calls on residents to help maintain the surrounding environment during the Lebaran mudik season to keep conditions conducive and safe.
